Among the many nondestructive techniques available, the easiest to use and the most economical to adopt is RVI (remote visual inspection). This technique consists in the inspection of objects or areas usually inaccessible to the eye without disassembling surrounding structures or machinery. It allows inspectors to discover hidden defects, before they cause major problems. RVI makes it possible for specialists to inspect otherwise difficult to reach areas, such as inside turbine and piston engines, pipes, airframes, tanks, vessels and other voids, including behind walls and into air conditioning ducts. We supply reliable, economical inspection and maintenance systems, enhancing safety, security and productivity for our customers.
More specifically, we deliver the latest equipment, involving videoscopes, fiberscopes, and borescopes. The following list is indicative:
• Rigid borescopes
• Flexible fiberscopes
• Flexible videoscopes
• CCTV & image recording
• Light sources
• High speed video systems
Rigid borescopes
Ideal when straight-line access to the area of interest is available. Through use of an optical lens system, an image is transmitted from the inspection area back to the eye. Available in a range of diameters from 0.9mm to 16mm (0.04” to 0.63") and working lengths up to 1.5m (4.8').
Flexible fiberscopes
Flexible instruments using a coherent fiber bundle to transmit an image back to the inspector's eye; fiberscopes can also be attached to CCTV and digital imaging equipment.
IPLEX flexible videoscopes
With the very latest optical & digital technology, IPLEX models are available with a choice of instrument length and specifications to suit a multitude of applications:
IPLEX SX II-R
IPLEX SA II-R
IPLEX MX – R
IPLEX FX-R
IPLEX FX
Designed to meet the demands of the modern industrial inspection environment, the IPLEX FX provides a tough, portable and intelligent, remote imaging solution with a host of advanced, yet intuitive features, making the IPLEX FX the ideal remote visual inspection instrument.
Features:
* 800 x 600 sensor resolution
* Cast magnesium-alloy chassis for impact resistance
Magnesium is used as the material of the base unit chassis - a material renowned for its strength and light weight. This ensures the FX will withstand the bumps, drops and falls of the everyday industrial workplace.
* Anti-fray abrasion resistant insertion tube
Minimizes the effect of 'wear and tear' on the Tough TaperFlex™ Tungsten braided insertion tube.
* True portability — compact, lightweight and battery-powered
Power is provided by an internally mounted lithium-ion battery, granting 2.5 hours of operation, and enabling a portable operation.
* Temperature resistance
The FX scope unit is resistant to use in the highest temperature of any industrial scope - 100°C. A two-stage temperature warning system helps prevent reaching an over-temperature situation.
* Resistance to harsh environments
The FX is the first product to comply with internationally recognized military standards (MIL-STD-810F). This assures a level of environmental performance greater than regular industry standards.
* New LED illumination with SmartTip™ interchangeable tip adaptors
The revolutionary new LED technology with automatic tip recognition enables an easy setup and makes of the lamp changes a thing of the past.
* High resolution LCD
An XGA resolution, 6.3" LCD monitor delivers sharp and color-rich images.
* Versatile image management
* Inspection recording options
Recording of images is greatly facilitated with FX. There are three options; users can attach their USB data stick, make use of the 1GB internal memory or utilize a removable solid-state compact flash card to store high quality still images or movie files.
* Measurement accuracy
A new 'multi' measurement complements the six other established modes of stereo measurement, ideal for pre- and post-blending measurements. The unique Spot-Ranging™ feature provides instant and live confirmation of the all-important tip to target distance prior to committing to a measurement.
* IPLEX viewer plus software
Simple and intuitive PC-based software is available for image management and re-measurement functionality.
CCTV & image recording
CCTV and image recording equipment is increasingly used with endoscopes to allow images to be displayed on a video monitor and recorded for further analysis and archiving. This also allows for group viewing of inspection images, saving time and user fatigue, and improving the decision making process.
Light sources
Light sources are used to illuminate the inspection area. These external units provide illumination which is transmitted to the viewing instrument by a light guide cable, and then through the scope via the integral fiber bundle to the viewing tip. A range of light sources with different lamp types and power requirements is available to suit a wide variety of working environments.
High speed video systems
Based on the hugely successful i-SPEED series of high speed video cameras, Olympus launched i-SPEED 1GB, which has been designed for applications where a simple "point and shoot camera" is the only requirement. i-SPEED 1GB is designed for industrial purposes and environment, and it still retains its portability, ruggedness and ease of use. The camera is a true stand-alone system with images provided to the user instantly for review and analysis.
Features:
• 1000fps recording capability
• On-board editing function
• Live image review and playback with the Olympus-exclusive Controller * Display Unit (CDU)
i-SPEED 1GB is suitable for a wide range of industries and applications including the following:
In-field trials and tests
Weapon ammunition tests
Biomechanics and sports research
On application
Production and processing lines
Reducing line jams
Improve and speed up line setup and changeovers
Lower scrap and materials costs
Reduce downtime and maintenance costs
Laboratory and Research
New product design and development
Material and component testing
Innovative high speed video systems
i-SPEED 2GB (33,000 fps) and the new i-SPEED 3GB (150,000 fps) were launched to meet more complex needs for highly advanced applications, such as military tests and R/D.
