| Copper Cables |
We provide customers across the region with all types of copper cables, notably Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6a, Cat 7 and coaxial cables. The various categories relate to difference in the data transfer rates, as per below.

• Cat 3 cables are designed to carry data up to 10 Mbit/s.

• Cat 5e cables support data transfer up to 100 Mbit/s.

• Cat 6 cable is suitable for Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbit/s / up to a distance of 100 m) |
| • Cat 6a cable |
| This category represents the latest TIA standard for enhanced performance standards as regards twisted pair cable systems. Defined at frequencies up to 500 MHz (twice that of Cat 6), Cat 6a cables perform at improved specifications, particularly in the area of alien crosstalk as compared to Cat 6 UTP which exhibited high alien noise in high frequencies. |
| When used for 10GBASE-T, Cat 6 cable's maximum length is 55 meters in a favorable alien crosstalk environment, but only 37 meters in a hostile alien crosstalk environment such as when many cables are bundled together. 10GBASE-T runs of up to 100 meters are permissible using Cat 6a. |
| • Cat 7 cable |
| The Cat 7 cable standard has been created to allow 10 Gigabit Ethernet over 100 m of copper cabling (also, 10 Gbit/s Ethernet now is typically run on Cat 6a). Cat 7 features even more strict specifications for crosstalk and system noise than Cat 6 a . To achieve this, shielding has been added for individual wire pairs and the cable as a whole. Besides the foil shield, the twisting of the pairs and number of turns per inch causes RF shielding and protects from crosstalk. |
